An independent reading list, kept by hand.
Bramble72 is a web directory assembled on the principle of the gazetteer: a methodical, open reference that charts the terrain of the internet across a fixed set of sections. The register currently holds 834 entries across 22 categories, from dental stations and legal chambers to gaming houses and wayfaring establishments. Each entry is submitted by the site proprietor and reviewed by the Bramble72 editorial team before being added to the record.
The directory is organised by trade or subject matter, following a taxonomy that covers the principal categories of commercial and civic life online. Within each section, entries are listed by the date of their registration. There is no ranking by traffic, revenue, or any other metric — the register is democratic by design, in keeping with the tradition of the printed reference gazetteer.
Submitting a site to Bramble72 is free of charge. Proprietors may add a single site using the form provided on the Add a Site page. Entries are subject to a brief editorial check to confirm that the domain is accessible and falls within the scope of the register. Sites accepted into the register are listed with a title and brief description.
Bramble72 does not pass editorial judgement on the quality of the sites it records. The directory is a chart of what exists, not a recommendation of what to visit. Readers are encouraged to conduct their own assessment of any establishment found in the register, particularly in sections covering financial services, healthcare, and legal practices.
The Bramble72 register is updated continuously as new submissions are received and approved. It is available without charge to anyone with access to the public web.
